Animated movies and series used to be back on time a KIDS ONLY land. Yet over the years animated series, especially animated TV series, progressively became more targeted to adults or, at least, to a more mature audience becoming way more broad and attracting always more people and viewers. Here we have the Top Five TV animated series that are literally on top of the rates for the viewers.
5. Batman: The Animated Series – (1992-1995)
Batman is most likely the superhero who had the most exposure on comics, animated series and movies if compared with any other. Despite the newest released series and episodes look amazing and they are outstanding it seems that the 90s version of the dark knight is still the most beloved and popular. This serie in particular was written and produced by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski and had the incredible support of Mark Hamill as voice actor for the role of the Joker.
4. Daria – (1997-2002)
Daria was a Serie which was born as a spin off from Beavis and Butthead (which are not in the top 5 but they deserve a honorable mention) and it is one of the rare cases where the small spin off became even a bigger success of the original one. Daria in a sense is unique and most likely a lot of teenager found their alter ego in the main character building up the incredible progressive success of the serie.
3. Archer – (2009 – Present)
An animated serie about spy spoofs almost crafted to the tee. Created by Adam Reed Archer is smart, funny, intelligent and never boring or repetitive. The voice actors behind the characters are making one of the best crew ever of the genre.
2. The Simpsons – (1989-present)
Is there anyone in the world who never heard about The Simpsons? We don’t think so. This legendary and never ending serie created by Matt Groening doesn’t need any kind of introduction and still today is the staple and the reference for many new TV Animated series.
1. BoJack Horseman – (2014-present)
What’s so special in a human-like talking horse living in a depressing humanity full of jokes and hilarity? Nothing and everything at the same time … but as a matter of fact in 5 seasons (so far) on air with every each one new season better than the one before BoJack Horseman is indeed the most popular animated serie of nowadays and one of the most acclaimed series if not the most acclaimed one produced by Netflix … and the serie is still very young!
